Learn About Vincent’s Commitment and Vision for Georgia

Dr. Vincent Mendes first came to Rome as an 18-year old freshman at Berry College.  There he fell in love with the land and the people of Northwest Georgia.  Taking the college’s motto “Not to be ministered unto, but to minister” to heart, he knew he wanted to live a life of serving others.

As a Chiropractor, Dr. Mendes has worked with families every day, listening to their concerns and helping them get back on their feet.  That work has shaped how he understands service – it starts with listening, and it’s about helping people solve real problems in their daily lives.

Outside the office, Vincent is an active member of his church and church choir, has served in Community Kitchen, Rome Little Theatre, Rome Area Heritage Foundation and Good Neighbor Ministries, and most recently, served as the chair of the county Democratic Party, which under his leadership, has seen tremendous growth, both in membership and participation.

Vincent counts himself very lucky to be married to his devoted wife Amy Mendes, with whom he has three lovely daughters who all have come up through Rome City School System.

For Vincent Mendes, this campaign didn’t begin with politics.  

It began with a simple belief: that a community deserves a representative who listens, who shows up, and who puts local people first.

After years of serving this community in his profession and in his personal life, he is stepping forward to serve in a new way – as a voice for northwest Georgia in the State House.
